Crypto Donations
Yes, we accept crypto donations!
How does donating cryptocurrency work?
We’ve partnered with Every.org to securely and compliantly accept cryptocurrency donations. Thanks to Every.org, we can accept crypto without managing a wallet or handling crypto exchanges ourselves. Every.org handles the liquidation process, converts the crypto to USD, and grants it to our organizations. You’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt directly from Every.org.
To donate, visit here, select your preferred cryptocurrency, and follow the onscreen instructions. You’ll be shown a QR code or crypto wallet to complete the transfer from your crypto wallet.
Are there any fees for donating crypto on Every.org?
Every.org does not charge a platform fee or take a cut of the donation. There is a 1% network fee for transferring your donation to Every.org’s crypto brokerage partner. Donations over $100,000 may qualify for slightly reduced fees.
Every.org is donor-supported and will ask if you would like to make a contribution to their organization as well; this is completely voluntary.
Which forms do I need to file to claim my tax deduction for crypto?
Please be sure to consult your CPA or tax consultant for tax advice.
For donations over $500, you may need to file IRS Form 8283. For donations over $5,000, an independent qualified tax appraisal is required. Every.org cannot provide tax advice or appraisals. If you need a signature on your 8283 form, email it to support@every.org, and we will sign and return it within 7 business days.
